The brand Myosutra, started in 2017, by banker turned Entrepreneur Roshni Mukherjee is a true labour of love to celebrate the mystic wonder of womanhood. The name of the brand itself comes from a Nichiren Buddhism incantation “Nam Myo Renge Kyo.”
Since 2017, the brand has been consciously championing the Indian craftsmanship and heritage through the sarees and ethnic wear for both women, men and children. The idea behind launching this brand is to bring Indian craftsmanship and weaves to the world stage and to help NRIs embrace and rediscover their love for Indian weaves.
Going beyond selling Indian ethnicwear, the brand emphasises greatly on upcycling and sustainable fashion choices as well. It continues to provide ethnic fashion inspiration to countless NRIs living in different parts of the world through its creations.
About Roshni Mukherjee
Roshni Mukherjee is a senior banker-turned- fashion entrepreneur living in the UK for close to two decades. Even after having a flourishing corporate job at a multinational bank, Roshni Mukherjee runs a successful Indian clothing brand, Myosutra in the UK.
Growing up in a culturally-inclined Bengali household in Kolkata, she developed the deepest love for centuries-old art and crafts. This unconditional love for Indian craftsmanship and the passion to present on the world stage has translated into inimitable creations under her label.
She founded Myosutra in 2017, with the aim to present the brilliance of the Indian arts and culture and refined it to suit the modern sensibilities. Roshni has completed her Certificate course in Fashion and Textile design from British Academy of Fashion Design. Her brand has been recognised for presenting sarees and fashion accessories that represent modern women. With each of her creations, Roshni has strived to put Indian craftsmanship into the global map. She also received many accolades in her journey as a fashion entrepreneur.
